What is going on in America?
The past 4 years have seen such chaotic and unprecedented behavior from the highest office in the land that unacceptable, “un-presidential” behavior has sadly become the norm. Yes! It is true. We all know it.
Through careful planning and constant pushing of the envelope, this administration and its band of sycophants have accomplished their goal of desensitizing the overwhelming majority of Americans through egregious sets of behaviors none worse than subverting the will of millions of Americans who voted legally. This is serious stuff, but unfortunately it seems that either most people don’t care, or they simply feel like there is nothing they can do. This administration has proven extremely dangerous and its leader, the President, and his loyal supporters will remain that way even after the inauguration of Joe Biden.
The new normal for the past 4 years was probably unimaginable to many prior to that. The assault on institutions and the willful disregard for the country is unprecedented.
With the support of a compromised Republican Party, increasingly radicalized state media in the form of Fox, OAN and Newsmax, and unwavering support from fascists, the administration is promoting and fighting to gaslight gullible, uninformed Americans. The message is simple, unfounded, and extremely dangerous. The president has knowingly and falsefully posited that voter fraud cost them the election.
Although this effort to sow distrust in the election process when it doesn’t benefit the Republican party will not work this time around, the damage has already been done and the power hungry fascists have no intention of stopping there.
Lawsuits the administration has filed have all failed- even ones presented before judges normally favorable to their cause.
There are roughly two weeks left in this administration, but we cannot just assume they are not scheming and planning against America.
Clearly, there is nothing they will not stoop to.
Let us be vigilant. Let us keep our eyes open and not let our country be taken by those who hate and have turned their backs on the very foundational principles and ideals from which the country was built on.
Subverting the will of the people is not normal and should not be allowed to be normal no matter how sophisticated, well-funded, and popular (with anti-American fringe groups) their evil plan of turning this country into a banana republic is.
Those who want to plot a coup against this country ought to be rebuked, shamed, named, vilified, and never forgotten about.
We must call them by what they are-TRAITORS-and not let up the pressure. Conscious individuals and entities with a platform need to stand up more forcefully and what these charades for what they are: a treasonous attempted coup and a shameless to subvert America.
Why are republicans virtually the only people unafraid to use the word treason? Why not call a spade a spade?
